Ukraine Parliament, as usual..April 25, 2015 at 3:19 pm #20787
There is very little doubt left in anybody’s mind that the junta will resume a full-scale attack on Novorussia. Likewise, it appears that any hopes for a weakening of the US and/or European support for the Nazi junta are now dead. If the long string of murders of political opponents including a well-known and iconic figure like Oles Buzina shocked *nobody* (least of all the millions of European “Charlies”!) then probably nothing will. Furthermore, there are no signs of another “Maidan” which could topple the junta. Yes, there are protests here and there, but nothing which could seriously threaten the regime. To the contrary, all the signs are that the US is holding the Ukraine in a very firm grip and that the predictable US plan is to restart a full scale war between the Nazi-occupied Ukraine and Novorussia with the option to involve Russia (which has been the plan all along).
The regime is clearly “going for broke” and not even pretending to solve any of the innumerable problems of Nazi-occupied Ukraine. Both Poroshenko and the Ukie Rada apparently are spending all their time and efforts into further provoking Russia by seriously discussing a law to nationalize all Russian assets in the Ukraine, re-writing history books, adopting resolutions saying that Russia has invaded the Ukraine, etc. Nazi death squads, now trained by the USA, are now crucifying and burning “separatists” alive, while the US Gauleiter in Kiev tweets photos of Russian air defense system taking in Moscow in 2013 as proof of a Russian invasion of the Ukraine.
In the meantime, the US is doing exactly what it always does: it sends in US forces to train local deathsquads while building a “coalition of the willing” (US+UK+Canada+Poland) to do with no form of mandate or permission that which it could not get approved legally (by the UN or even by NATO!). It appears that the debate inside the US “deep state” about the risks of the current strategy is over and that the Neocons have prevailed.April 25, 2015 at 3:30 pm #20788
Former New Jersey Superior Court Judge Andrew Napolitano has blasted President Obama over the revelations that a drone strike he sanctioned killed hostages being held prisoner by al Qaeda in Pakistan.
The Libertarian pundit did not mince words, calling Obama’s actions “a war crime.”
“I condemn, in words as strong as anyone can muster, the idea that the president of the United States can be judge, jury and executioner for any American,” Napolitano said during an appearance on Special Report with Bret Baier.
“The Constitution expressly prohibits it, and we fought every single war against tyrants so that that type of unilateral power in the hands of one person, who now apparently delegates it to others, would ever come here.” the judge added.
The hostages are just two of the innocent victims that have lost their lives to drone strikes which have killed untold numbers of civilians.
The Bureau of Investigative Journalism has calculated that between 421 and 960 civilians have been killed by drone strikes in Pakistan since 2002.
Last year the Watchdog also released figures indicating that close to two and a half thousand people have been killed by launches sanctioned by the Obama White House.April 25, 2015 at 5:53 pm #20789
Fuck the United States of Death
As April 30 approaches, marking 40 years since the end of the Vietnam War, people in Vietnam with severe mental and physical disabilities still feel the lingering effects of Agent Orange.
Respiratory cancer and birth defects amongst both Vietnamese and U.S. veterans have been linked to exposure to the defoliant. The U.S. military sprayed millions of gallons of Agent Orange onto Vietnam’s jungles during the conflict to expose northern communist troops.
Reuters photographer Damir Sagolj travelled through Vietnam to meet the people affected, four decades on.April 25, 2015 at 6:09 pm #20790
Kiev gave the order to destroy the archives to investigate the tragedy of Odessa. Constantine Knyrik
Available News Front thank the staff of MIA of Ukraine (former employee) turned the investigation materials, videos and photos of Odessa tragedy. Ex-police officer told me that when the archive was collected, then they were operational shooting, photographs, videos, that would recreate the crime scene and conduct an investigation at the highest level and to punish the perpetrators really …
At a certain stage of the investigation documents on orders from Kiev were destroyed, all materials removed, but he managed to save them and leave them for a quiet area.
His family is there now and he does not want to “shine” your name or any name …
Materials submitted News Front, will form the basis of the documentary investigation, which will be released within a month. We just do not have time to process all the second in May …
Photos and videos that have not yet seen the world …
I managed to catch a flick through them and realized that the junta for this file is simply a threat to universal scale. Understand why they gave the order to destroy it all, but I’m glad that there are still people who were able to maintain and, most importantly, to convey the material to be published …
We have real evidence and evidence of a crime, photo and video materials, which previously has not been seen and I am sure that they can become irrefutable documents for a real investigation of the tragedy …

What is the philosophy of the hidden elite?
1. To start wars and make money by supplying both sides.
2. To promote the interests of such people as Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Larry Ellison, David Koch, Sheldon Adelson, Christy Walton, Michael Bloomberg, George Soros, Len Blavatnik, Alisher Usmanov, Mikhail Fridman, Leonid Mikhelson, Gennady Timchenko and Ronald Perelman.
3. To remember, as Leo Strauss believed, that “those who are fit to rule are those who realize there is no morality and that there is only one natural right – the right of the superior to rule over the inferior.”April 25, 2015 at 7:01 pm #20792
Two years ago, I’d thought it would be totally incongruous to speak about Satanism. Satanists for me were isolated nuts whose rituals were as inoffensive as they were ridiculous. It was a great mistake.
First I had to admit Satanist practices & such were commonly practiced in France, & that they include the collective rapes, tortures & often murders of children. The use of candles, robes & other satanic folklore isn’t always observed, but the rapes & murders are systematic. I then had to admit, because too many testimonies came out, that Satanists are infiltrated everywhere: Politics, media, social services, and industries. Because they also infiltrated many other sub-groups like freemasonry & other secret societies. We will of course examine these matters later on these next weeks.April 25, 2015 at 7:32 pm #20793
Suddenly, a lot is being made about the reported killing of U.S. citizen and al Qaeda “hostage” Warren Weinstein in Pakistan a couple months ago during a drone strike carried out by the CIA (see here, here, here and here).
President Obama through a statement has claimed his death was accidental and that they didn’t know he and a fellow hostage were being held in that building they targeted back in January. He says he is deeply sorry for the mistake.
I covered this story a couple days ago because at the same time they reported this “mistake” the White House also mentioned they killed a fake al Qaeda spokesman, a Jewish man by the name of Adam Gadahn who was born Adam Pearlman and lived with his paternal grandfather, a member of the ADL and a rabid Zionist.
So who was this “aid worker” who really worked as a contractor for USAID in Pakistan trying to bring the marvels of neoliberal economic austerity and fascism to the people of that country and why was he killed by the CIA?
Weinstein is reported to have been an aid worker in Pakistan when he was taken hostage by al Qaeda back in 2011. Makes for a great story doesn’t it? A guy with nothing but good intentions, goes to a foreign land out of the goodness of his own heart only to be captured by the evil enemy, never to be seen again.
In fact, Weinstein is reported to have been a career aid worker:April 25, 2015 at 8:36 pm #20794
18 + In the internet appear video there Ukrainian fascists and foreign mercenaries from battalion “Azov” possibly executed man by burning on the cross. This happened possibly near village Shirokino (area of city Mariupol). Ministry of Defense of Donetsk republic didn’t comment that video yet. Update, we have information that exist full video (duration 15 minutes), there this man on cross was burned. So, battalion “Azov”, created by citizens of Israel, burned man in traditions of ISIS. We have now controversial information and opinions about this video. Some fascist unit “Misanthropic Division” pretend to be authors of this video. They said that video was staged in order to troll Russian media. Right now “Misanthropic Division” denied their connection to this video, so video could be true.
In the internet with reference to KiberBerkut (hacker’s group which exposing crimes of Kiev junta) was uploaded horrible video about possible execution of unknown man by Ukrainian fascists. Thugs in the video represented themselves as members of fascist battalion “Azov”. With foreign accents [East or Central Europe accents for me] they said that thing which will happen later await anyone who contributes to separatism. Same did Nazis at time of Great Patriotic War (1941 – 1945), they burned alive villagers, whom Nazis suspected in contributes to guerrilla. So, modern Ukrainian fascists just follow German Nazis of 20th century.April 26, 2015 at 4:57 am #20795
The most damning evidence yet of how the Establishment hid Lord Janner’s alleged child abuse can be revealed today.
Police and social workers were told more than 20 years ago that the peer took a vulnerable boy to Labour Party offices and Parliament before molesting him in his marital bed.
A ten-page witness statement details the alleged victim’s harrowing ordeal at the hands of Janner. But all references to the politician were removed from the child’s social services file, according to legal papers obtained by the Mail.
A children’s home manager told bosses she feared he was having sex with the child but her concerns were ‘swept under the carpet’.
The scale of the cover-up helps explains how the former Labour MP repeatedly escaped justice.
The Director of Public Prosecutions says there was sufficient evidence to charge Janner with 22 offences of paedophilia against nine children. But Alison Saunders outraged campaigners by ruling the 86-year-old should not face court because he has dementia. The latest proof of the Establishment’s strenuous efforts to protect one of its own came as it emerged that:
Janner hosted at least four private banquets as well as dinners and afternoon teas at the House of Lords after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s;
A dossier about the peer is among 114 files on child sex abuse that have gone missing from the Home Office;
Mrs Saunders has admitted that having dementia is ‘not a bar’ to being prosecuted.
The newly-uncovered documents from the early 1990s outlining Janner’s alleged abuse will pile fresh pressure on the authorities.
In a detailed ten-page witness statement, a married father accused the politician of sexually abusing him for nearly two years when he was a teenager at a Leicestershire children’s home in the 1970s. He alleged that the former Leicester MP took him to party headquarters, to his constituency surgeries and to the Houses of Parliament. Janner is accused of sexually assaulting the then 14-year-old at his London house in December 1974 while his wife and children were away.April 26, 2015 at 10:39 am #20796
If a big earthquake swallowed this devilish bunch into the bowels of the Earth, half of the world’s problems would be solved at a stroke.
Senator Ted Cruz, former Governor Rick Perry, and other 2016 presidential hopefuls flocked to Sin City on Saturday to tout their support for Israel at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s spring meeting, where hundreds of influential conservative donors gathered to evaluate the emerging field. The event was hosted by gaming billionaire and GOP mega-donor Sheldon Adelson at his palatial Venetian Hotel, famous for an indoor canal where gondoliers serenade casino-goers as they drift past celebrity chef restaurants, designer clothing stores, and a scented oxygen bar.
In addition to “death to the Arabs,” the marchers’ repertoire of cries and songs included: “revenge,” “may your name be wiped out,” “may your village be burnt down,” and Muhammad is dead,” all heard by the police and occupation forces who secured the event, Kifaya says. Some of the marchers even banged on the doors of homes and businesses and there were also some attempts to damage property. Israel expert Dena Shunra told The Electronic Intifada:
“May your name be wiped out” is a very potent curse, generally used for enemies of the entire Jewish nation. Hitler is always mentioned with that curse.April 26, 2015 at 11:07 am #20797
I’m sure you’re right about the Israelis being the culprits on this one. And in other undisclosed instances. With friends like the US and/or Israel you definitely have no need of enemies. Argument: Four years after the U.S.-led attack on Afghanistan, the true meaning of the U.S occupation is revealing itself. Afghanistan represents merely a space that is to be kept empty. Western powers have no interest in either buying from or selling to the blighted nation. The impoverished Afghan civilian population is as irrelevant as is the nation’s economic development. But the space represented by Afghanistan in a volatile region of geo-political import, is to be kept vacant from all hostile forces. The country is situated at the center of a resurgent Islamic world, close to a rising China (and India) and the restive ex-Soviet Asian republics, and adjacent to oil-rich states.
The only populated centers of any real concern are a few islands of grotesque capitalist imaginary reality — foremost Kabul — needed to project the image of an existing central government, an image further promoted by Karzai’s frequent international junkets. In such islands of affluence amidst a sea of poverty, a sufficient density of foreign ex-pats, a bloated NGO-community, carpetbaggers and hangers-on of all stripes, money disbursers, neo-colonial administrators, opportunists, bribed local power brokers, facilitators, beauticians (of the city planner or aesthetician types), members of the development establishment, do-gooders, enforcers, etc., warrants the presence of Western businesses. These include foreign bank branches, luxury hotels (Serena Kabul, Hyatt Regency of Kabul), shopping malls (the Roshan Plaza, the Kabul City Centre mall), import houses (Toyota selling its popular Land Cruiser), image makers (J. Walter Thompson), and the ubiquitous Coca-Cola1.
The “other,” the real economy — is a vast informal one in which the Afghan masses creatively eke out a daily existence.2 They are utterly irrelevant to the neo-colonist interested in running an empty space at the least cost. The self-financing opium economy reduces such cost and thrives upon invisibility. The invisible multitudes represent a nuisance — much like Kabul’s traffic — upon maintaining the empty space. Only the minimal amount of resources — whether of the carrot or stick type — will be devoted to preserving their invisibility. Many of those who returned after the overthrow of the Taliban are now seeking to emigrate abroad, further emptying the space.3
The means to maintain and police such an empty space are a particular spatial distribution of military projection by U.S. and increasingly NATO forces: twenty-four hour high-level aerial surveillance; a three-level aerial presence (low, medium, high altitude); pre-positioned fast-reaction, heavily-armed ground forces based at heavily fortified key nodal points; and the employ of local satraps’ expendable forces. The aim of running the empty space at least cost is foundering upon a resurgent Taliban, who have developed their own least cost insurgency weapons (e.g., improvised explosive devices and suicide bombings) and are putting them to good use.April 26, 2015 at 11:19 am #20799
“Barack Obama is intent, it is his number one goal, to ensure that Iran has a nuclear weapon,” she said. “Why? Why would you put the nuclear weapon in the hands of madmen who are Islamic radicals?”
Bachmann, however, then seemed to approve of the President moving mankind into “the midnight hour.”
“We get to be living in the most exciting time in history,” she said, urging fellow Christians to “rejoice.”
“Jesus Christ is coming back. We, in our lifetimes potentially, could see Jesus Christ returning to Earth, the Rapture of the Church.”
“These are wonderful times,” she concluded.April 26, 2015 at 11:24 am #20800
More than half of some 770,000 soldiers are pessimistic about their future in the military and nearly as many are unhappy in their jobs, despite a six-year, $287 million campaign to make troops more optimistic and resilient, findings obtained by USA TODAY show.
Twelve months of data through early 2015 show that 403,564 soldiers, or 52%, scored badly in the area of optimism, agreeing with statements such as “I rarely count on good things happening to me.” Forty-eight percent have little satisfaction in or commitment to their jobs.
The results stem from resiliency assessments that soldiers are required to take every year. In 2014, for the first time, the Army pulled data from those assessments to help commanders gauge the psychological and physical health of their troops.
The effort produced startlingly negative results. In addition to low optimism and job satisfaction, more than half reported poor nutrition and sleep, and only 14% said they are eating right and getting enough rest.
The Army began a program of positive psychology in 2009 in the midst of two wars and as suicide and mental illness were on the rise. To measure resiliency the Army created a confidential, online questionnaire that all soldiers, including the National Guard and Reserve, must fill out once a year.
Last year, Army scientists applied formulas to gauge service-wide morale based on the assessments. The results demonstrate that positive psychology “has not had much impact in terms of overall health,” says David Rudd, president of the University of Memphis who served on a scientific panel critical of the resiliency program.
The Army offered contradictory responses to the findings obtained by USA TODAY. Sharyn Saunders, chief of the Army Resiliency Directorate that produced the data, initially disavowed the results. “I’ve sat and looked at your numbers for quite some time and our team can’t figure out how your numbers came about,” she said in an interview in March.
However, when USA TODAY provided her the supporting Army documents this week, her office acknowledged the data but said the formulas used to produce them were obsolete. “We stand by our previous responses,” it said in a statement.
Subsequent to USA TODAY’s inquiry, the Army calculated new findings but lowered the threshold for a score to be a positive result. As a consequence, for example, only 9% of 704,000 score poorly in optimism.
The Army said the effort to use the questionnaire results to gauge morale Army-wide is experimental. “We continue to refine our methodologies and threshold values to get the most accurate results possible,” it said in the statement.
The Army’s effort to use positive psychology to make soldiers more resilient has been controversial since its inception in 2009. A blue-ribbon panel of scientists from the Institute of Medicine, part of the National Academy of Sciences, concluded last year that there is little or no evidence the program prevents mental illness. It argued there was no effort to test its efficacy before the Army embraced it . The panel cited research arguing that, in fact, the program could be harmful if it leaves soldiers with a false sense of resiliency.
The Army disputed the findings, pushing ahead with its positive psychology program that now costs more than $50 million a year. At least 2.45 million soldiers have taken a self-assessment test that is a crucial part of the resiliency program, and 28,000 GIs have been instructed on how to teach other soldiers the curriculum.
“The Army funds this program because the Army values the lives of soldiers and wants to instill skills and competencies that will enhance their connections, relationships and ability to mitigate stressors and exercise help seeking behaviors through their life,” says an Army statement released last month.
But the internal data obtained by USA TODAY shows most soldiers today trending in the wrong direction. Two-thirds were borderline or worse for an area called “catastrophic thinking,” where poor scores mean the soldier has trouble adapting to change or dwells on the worst possible things happening.April 26, 2015 at 11:36 am #20801
This is what the Lancet published that upset the zionazis/Judeo-supremacists
The open letter denounced Israel’s aggression against Gaza, and called upon medical professionals worldwide to speak out against Israeli violence and oppression.
It dismissed Israel’s so-called “defensive aggression” as perverse propaganda that attempts to legitimize the creation of “an emergency to masquerade a massacre.”
The letter described the Israel Defense Force’s string of military attacks on Gaza in recent years as “a ruthless assault of unlimited duration, extent, and intensity.”
It also expressed disgust at Israel’s military onslaught against Gazans under the “guise of punishing terrorists.”
It said the burden of military attacks on Gaza is generally born by women and children under the “unacceptable pretext” of Israel wiping out resistance to the siege it imposes on the coastal strip.
Specifically referencing Israel’s military assault on Gaza last summer, the letter insisted “the massacre in Gaza spares no one.” Its victims include “the disabled and sick in hospitals, children playing on the beach or on the roof top, with a large majority of non-combatants,” the letter said.
The open letter’s signatories stressed the Israeli administration’s conduct in Gaza was an insult to their humanity, dignity, and intelligence. They denounced what they described as a “myth” propagated by Israel that its military aggression is conducted in a humanitarian manner.
The Lancet also ticked off the zionazis/Judeo-supremacists during the Iraq war crime when they busted through the zio-propaganda wall that was hiding the extent of the zionazi slaughter of civilians in Iraq with their famous study of civilian casualties there.April 26, 2015 at 11:41 am #20802
There are two entities called “the United States” — the Continental United States comprised of fifty (50) geographically defined nation states acting as a federation
(the “United States of America” was never a sovereign nation, just a business association, folks. It’s the land-based States that are separate sovereign nations.) and the Federal United States comprised of fifty-seven (57) states—the fifty Federal States plus the Federal Territories and Possessions which are counted as “States” of their union which is supposed to operate exclusively in the international jurisdiction of the sea.
Continental United States = 50 Separate Nation States operating “as” a nation on the land jurisdiction.
Federal United States = 50 Incorporated Franchises of the “United States of America, Inc.” operating the international jurisdiction of the sea, plus seven “nation states” — Guam, Puerto Rico, etc., operating as “the United States of America (Minor)”—for a total of 57 states.
This is the way it is, and the way it has always been.
The Federales and their “Federal State” agents are not supposed to be trespassing on our land jurisdiction, except to serve and take care of and monitor their own citizens and attending to their duties as contractors.
The confusion and the fraud began in earnest in 1911 when banks operating as a private association of banks deceitfully calling themselves the “Federal Reserve” bought the “United States of America, Inc.” –a governmental services corporation—and took over the agencies of the Federal United States. They literally bought such familiar agencies as the “United States Department of Transportation” and began operating them as subcontractors without telling anyone.
They then proceeded to pull off a criminal fraud gambit against the whole nation—and eventually the entire world— beginning with the “Federal Reserve Act of 1913” and continuing through the 1933 bankruptcy of the “United States of America, Inc.” to the present day.
The United States defined as “…the District of Columbia et alia” went “Bankrupt” in 1933 and was declared so by President Roosevelt in Executive Orders 6073, 6102, 6111, and finally, as consolidated in Executive Order 6260,
(See: Senate Report 93-549, pages 187 & 594) under the “Trading With The Enemy Act” (Sixty-Fifth Congress, Sess. I, Chs. 105, 106, October 6, 1917), and as codified at 12 U.S.C.A. 95a.
The several Federal “States of the Union”—purely incorporated political fictions created as franchises of the United States of America, Inc., represented by their respective Governors pledged the “full faith and credit” of their States and their citizenry, to the aid of the National Government represented by the “United States of America, Inc.”, and formed numerous committees, such as the “Council of State Governments”, the “Social Security Administration”, etc., to purportedly deal with the economic “Emergency” caused by the bankruptcy. These organizations operated under the “Declaration of Interdependence” of January 22, 1937, and published some of their activities in “The Book of the States.”
The Reorganization of the bankruptcy is located in Title 5 of the United States Code Annotated. The “Explanation” at the beginning of 5 U.S.C.A. is most informative reading. The “Secretary of Treasury” was appointed as the “Receiver” in Bankruptcy. (See: Reorganization Plan No. 26, 5 U.S.C.A. 903, Public Law 94-564, Legislative History, pg. 5967) As a Bankrupt loses control over his business, this appointment to the “Office of Receiver” in bankruptcy had to have been made by the “creditors” who are “foreign powers or principals”. As revealed by Title 27 USC 250.11 and elsewhere, the “Secretary of the Treasury” being referenced is the Secretary of the Treasury of Puerto Rico, an Officer of the Federal United States who was designated as the “Receiver” in bankruptcy by the Foreign Creditors (banks).April 26, 2015 at 11:44 am #20803

If passed, Conyers’ amendment would have explicitly barred those found to have offered “praise or glorification of Nazism or its collaborators, including through the use of white supremacist, neo-Nazi, or other similar symbols” from receiving any form of support from the US Department of Defense.
The amendment was presented by congressional staffers to lobbyists from Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the Simon Wiesenthal Center, two of the country’s largest established Jewish pressure groups. Despite their stated mission to combat anti-Semitism and violent extremism, the ADL and Wiesenthal Center refused to support Jeffries and Conyers’ proposal.
According to Democratic sources in Congress, staffers from the ADL’s Washington office and the Simon Wiesenthal Center rejected the amendment on the grounds that right-wing Ukrainian parties like Svoboda with documented records of racist extremism had “moderated their rhetoric.” An ADL lobbyist insisted that “the focus should be on Russia,” while the Wiesenthal Center pointed to meetings between far-right political leaders in Ukraine and the Israeli embassy as evidence that groups like Svoboda and Right Sector had shed their extremism.April 26, 2015 at 3:34 pm #20805

Harvey Weinstein Urges Jews to Take on Anti-Semites: “Kick These Guys in the Ass” 3/24/2015 by Scott Feinberg, Tina Daunt
“We’re gonna have to get as organized as the mafia,” the mogul told the audience at the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s national tribute dinner, where he was introduced by friend and competitor Jeffrey Katzenberg as “a really nice Jewish boy.”
Harvey Weinstein accused of groping Italian model, 22, in his office at Tribeca Film Center
In September 2009, Weinstein spoke out against efforts to extradite director Roman Polanski from Switzerland to the U.S. to face 1977 charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old. Polanski pleaded guilty to the charges before fleeing the country.
Weinstein, whose company had distributed a film about the Polanski case, questioned whether Polanski committed any crime.

Aside from giving his official blessing to OUN-UPA, Sheptytsky also wrote a letter to Adolf Hitler in late 1941, praising him as “the invincible leader of the incomparable and glorious Wehrmacht,” was an active sponsor of the 14th Waffen-SS Grenadier Division “Galizien”, and even advised the Ukrainian youth that forced labor in Germany would be good for them.April 26, 2015 at 6:58 pm #20809
Appalled doesn’t cover it. Disgusted won’t do either. Angry doesn’t come close. Maybe I have yet to learn of a word that would express my feelings on the following topic. There’s a disease, an epidemic, that spreads through out the western world. We are all turning into accomplices to murder. And I still believe we are better than that. Just perhaps not all of us.
The US, and the rest of the west, have made plenty enemies already without needing to create their own out of thin air – as if there were ever a need to create enemies. But that’s still what we’ve been doing in many places in the world, including Ukraine. And there’s an entire multi-billion machine working just to make us think what someone else wants us to think about these ‘enemies’.
These days, when you call someone ‘pro-Russian’, that’s about on on the same level as ‘murderer’, rapist, things like that. And that must be why the western press once again resorts to ‘pro-Russian’ as a swear word, or even curse, in reporting on the murders of at least 10 people in Ukraine over the past 3 months. As far as we can see, all were considered ‘allies’ of former President Yanukovych (whatever ‘allies’ may mean in this context) and 2 were journalists (of whom at least 1 was also a historian).April 26, 2015 at 7:07 pm #20810
In an interview conducted earlier this month, film maker Joel Gilbert, who produced the film “Dreams from My Real Father,” (which suggested that Obama’s Communist mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, may be his real father) talks to President Obama’s brother Malik, who has some very strong views about his half-brother – including his own doubts as to Obama’s parentage.
Malik says, he feels “Disappointed, disappointed, used, used and also betrayed. In the beginning, I didn’t think that he was a schemer. His real character, his real personality, the real him, is coming out now.”
‘…the way that he’s turned and become a different person with the family is the same way that I see him behaving politically. He says one thing and then he does another. He’s not been an honest man, as far as I’m concerned, in who he is and what he says and how he treats people.”
While Malik and Barack are not particularly close now, Malik was close enough to have been the best man at Barack and Michelle’s wedding, has visited the White House, and is president of the Barack H. Obama Foundation.April 26, 2015 at 7:10 pm #20811April 26, 2015 at 11:02 pm #20812
The budget for Special Operations Command in Tampa, Fla., which dispatches elite troops around the world, jumped to $10 billion in the fiscal year that ended on Sept. 30, from $2.2 billion in 2001. Congress has doubled the command to nearly 70,000 people this year, from 33,000 in fiscal 2001. The Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force provide further funding.
Navy SEALs and Army Green Berets, for example, are stationed in the Baltics, training elite troops from Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia for the type of proxy warfare Russia has conducted in the Crimea and eastern Ukraine.
But the vast majority of special-operations missions involve coaxing and coaching foreign forces to combat extremists the U.S. considers threats.
U.S. special operators are encouraged to learn local culture, language and politics as they report on a country’s vulnerability to extremists. “This isn’t spying—this is armed anthropology,” said David Maxwell, a former Special Forces colonel now at Georgetown University.April 27, 2015 at 12:02 am #20813
The Eastern European alliance in the war against Russia is cracking up.
In Poland, voters will elect a new president on May 10, and then a new parliament and prime minister by October 30. On present polls, the pro-American war factions are unlikely to win. That will mean the elimination, at least in Poland, of Radosław Sikorski (lead image, left), last year’s Anglo-Polish foreign minister, this year’s speaker of the Polish parliament (Sejm); and of his Anglo-American wife, Anne Applebaum (right).
The Siklebaums aren’t the only casualties. Victoria Nuland, leader of the war party at the State Department in Washington, tweeted from Warsaw last week: “I think countries like the United States and Poland, need to do everything we can to support the Ukrainians.” Polish officials told Nuland, after downgrading her meetings to the lowest possible protocol level, that enough is enough.
Sikorski is currently under investigation by the Polish authorities for fiddling state budget funds for personal expenses. Next month, like other Polish public officials, he must disclose how much of his life style is subsidized by the earnings of his wife, who is paid in turn by a State Department-financed propaganda outlet in London. For more on the Siklebaum subsidies, read this.
Last year the couple tried but failed to exit from Warsaw when Sikorski was rejected for a NATO post in Brussels, and then for a European Union post.
This year Applebaum has launched her own eastern front offensive, berating the Czechs, Slovaks, Hungarians, Serbs, Greeks, and finally the Poles for fiddling their own expenses, and failing to do more in cash and arms to support the Kiev government’s war in eastern Ukraine. They were all pawns, she claims, in the Kremlin’s “grand strategy…to delegitimise Nato, undermine the EU, split the western alliance and, above all, reverse the [post-communist] transitions of the 1990s.” “No one is fond of Russia in Poland, but that isn’t the point: Russia doesn’t need Poland, Hungary or Slovakia republic to be ruled by pro-Russian governments. They just need anti-German governments in central Europe, or anti-western governments, or simply incompetent governments that can persuade the rest of Nato to throw up their hands and say ‘we won’t fight for these people’.”April 27, 2015 at 12:12 am #20814

U.S.-Israel Strategic Cooperation: Joint Police & Law Enforcement Training
In 2002, Los Angeles Police Department detective Ralph Morten visited Israel to receive training and advice on preparing security arrangements for large public gatherings. From lessons learned on his trip, Det. Morten prepared a new Homicide Bomber Prevention Protocol and was better able to secure the Academy Awards presentation.
In January 2003, thirty-three senior U.S. law enforcement officials – from Washington, Chicago, Kansas City, Boston and Philadelphia – traveled to Israel to attend a meeting on “Law Enforcement in the Era of Global Terror.” The workshops helped build skills in identifying terrorist cells, enlisting public support for the fight against terrorism and coping with the aftermath of a terrorist attack.
“We went to the country that’s been dealing with the issue for 30 years,” Boston Police Commissioner Paul F. Evans said. “The police are the front line in the battle against terrorism. We were there to learn from them – their response, their efforts to deter it. They touched all the bases.”
“I think it’s invaluable,” said Washington, DC Police Chief Charles Ramsey about the instruction he received in Israel. “They have so much more experience in dealing with this than we do in the United States.”
Also, in 2003, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security established a special Office of International Affairs to institutionalize the relationship between Israeli and American security officials. “I think we can learn a lot from other countries, particularly Israel, which unfortunately has a long history of preparing for and responding to terrorist attacks,” said Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) about the special office.
Here’s the thing: your chances of dying of ‘terrorism’ on US soil are dwarfed by the chances of dying from practically every other cause of death in the US. Terrorism simply is not a gigantic and imminent existential threat that requires special hardware and training relationships with nations that practice the tactics and strategies of occupation.
Terrorism is not such a common thing that we need to define our entire crowd control methods around it, but a rare thing, and is really what’s left over after a few individuals feel like every other option of redress has been stripped away. Which is why it’s practically unheard of in the US, and most other civilized countries.
But domestic US law enforcement agencies have been training and outfitting themselves as if it’s a top threat. Why is that?
There are not very many reassuring answers to that question. One is that our law enforcement agencies lack the ability to discern actual threats from imaginary ones. Another is that they envision a time when some portion of the civilian population feels as if it has lost all hope and options for a better future, and starts resorting to terrorist acts.
Either way, very poor answers.
A Dangerous Job?
One mitigating factor is to note that police have a stressful, dangerous and low paying job. Erring on the side of personal safety makes sense when looked at this way.
In terms of dangerousness, however, law enforcement doesn’t even crack the top-ten list of most dangerous professions:April 27, 2015 at 1:02 am #20816
A controversial Ukrainian website publishing personal information about ‘enemies of the state’ appears to have been run by a NATO cyber center in one of the Baltic states. The website went offline on Saturday following public pressure.
